Tourist Visa (valid one year for three month stay)

This visa is valid for one year and enables you to stay in Australia for a period of up to 3 months at a time. 

If you are planning a holiday in Australia there are a few things you really need: sun-tan lotion, a flight ticket,  and a visa. All tourists must have a visa to enter Australia (the only exception are New Zealanders). 

These visas are issued electronically. The ETA  Electronic Travel Authority is an invisible visa (visible only on-screen to the immigration agent upon entering Australia when your passsort number is called up.)  

Australia Shopping World is authorised to issue an ETA-Visa. Normally you will received your visa confirmation within 24 hours after submitting your application. In emergency situations we can process the application immediately for a surcharge of Euro 12.50.

Which means if you booked a last-minute flight for tomorrow afternoon we can have your visa processed within that time! 

You can request the application by phone from one of our shops or come to one of our shops personally in Berlin, Cologne or Wiesbaden and fill out the application form there and then. It is no longer necessary to submit your passport with the application form. You are however personally responsible for submitting the correct data on your application form. 

You can receive your visa confirmation by mail, fax or by picking it up personally if you wish.

Business Visa (short and long stay)

If travelling to Australia for business reasons you will need a special visa which is also issued by ETA procedure. The system is identical to that of the tourist ETA visa. The processing fee for a Business short validity visa is also Euro 25.- . The Business short validity visa is valid for a single entry only for a maximum duration of 3 months.

You can have the application form sent or faxed to you from one of our shops. Or you can fax-request the form from our number : 0221-9130650. Or you can download the form below. 

A Business-Long visa which is valid for 10 years depending on the passport validity is also available via ETA application. Here also the maximum duration of the stay may not exceed 3 months. An additional government fee of AUD 65.—is payable for this visa.

Emigration forms

And in case you come to like it so much “down under” that you don’t want to leave anymore (which happens to everyone) and then consequently want to emigrate there ( only few actually have the courage), then you can  obtain the necessary forms to start down the rather bureaucratic lane of emigration. Send a stamped addressed envelope A4 with 1,42 Euro postage on it and a short note asking for general emigration information to our “Australia Shopping  World” in Munich.

Au-pair

It is not permitted to stay and work in Australia as an au-pair. This is because it cannot be brought in accord with the current Australian employment laws.In this case the visa option would be a “Working Holiday Maker” visa. (see below)

 Working Visa

A Business short or long validity visa is not to be confused with a work-permit for a limited duration. If you wish to work for an Australian company, then there is a long application process to go through, even if you are being sponsored by an Australian company.

You can receive information on this if you send a stamped addressed A4 envelope with 1,42 Euro postage to our Australia Shopping World in Munich. Please attach a note describing your case so we can send you the appropriate forms and information.

 Long-stay tourist Visa

It is possible to obtain a long-term tourist visa for a duration of longer than 3 months, however you are required to submit your application to the Australian Embassy directly.

Nationalities listed under Tourist Visa ETA (see above) should request Form 48 from our Australia Shopping World Munich or any other of our shops. All other nationalities require Form  48R. This form should be filled in and sent together with your passport and the processing fee of Euro 40.- to the Australian Embassy.

If you require this visa quickly we do provide a service for you where you can authorize us to handle the matter for you – please contact any one of our shops for more details. This express-service is only possible if we have 3-4 working days at our disposal before your flight is due to leave for Australia. The processing fee for this express-service where we go to the embassy for you personally is  Euro 70.- in addition to the Euro 40.- government fee. This Express-Service we provide is only for applicants using a Form 48, as applicants using a Form 48R take longer to be processed.

Working Holiday Maker Visa

Since July 2000 there is the possibility for young people aged 18-30 of the following nationalities to stay and work in Australia for up to one year:   Canada, Denmark, Rep. of Ireland, Netherlands, Japan, Malta, Finland, Rep. of Cyprus, Germany, Norway, Great Britain and Sweden.(new: from 1.1.2004 also France and Italy) 

Conditions of this visa are that you may not work longer than 3 months with the same employer; you must have no dependent children; you must apply for this visa outside of Australia; you can apply up until your 31^st birthday. This is a one-time only visa – it cannot be granted twice for the same person.

Please send us your completed application form. The fee is a total of Euro 145.- (Euro 115.- government fee and Euro 30.- our processing fee).

You do not need to send us your passport. Normally the visa confirmation comes within 48 hours after the application has been submitted. There are however exceptions depending on the individual case where a health check may be required for example by the immigration department.

Student Visa

The student visa is for all who wish to take part in a course for more than 3 months or for students enrolled at university or school. You will need Application form 157A.

We will send you this application form if you send a stamped,self-addressed envelope with Euro 1.42 postage and a short note stating which form you require to our Australia Shopping World in Munich.  

You do not require this visa if you are attending a language course less than 3 months. In this case a normal tourist visa is sufficient.
